Suggested Blog Reading - Part I

The great thing about blogs is there is just so many of them with interesting points of view. Here are a few that I read regularly.

Canadian Capitalist - A fellow engineer in Ottawa that posts every weekday for over two years now! A wide range of topics are covered including spending, saving and current events. A must read during my lunch hour if nothing else for all the interesting debates that tend to come up in the comments to some of his posts.

Canadian Financial Stuff - A quirky blog by another guy in Ottawa. It often features interesting rants and different ideas on the world of personal finances.

Canadian Money Blog Reviewer - A newer blog that seems to off to a promising start. Offering a wide coverage of topics and a very open door policy on topics/help for readers.

The Dividend Guy Blog - If you own any stock with a dividend in Canada you have to read this blog. The author is from Alberta and has some solid advice on dividend paying stocks.

Million Dollar Journey - A blog about a 27 year old trying to get his net worth to $1 million by the time he is 35. So far so good, this blogger is very active in the personal finance blog sphere and you will often see his comments on other blogs such as mine.

Well that's just a small sample of a few the blogs I read. I'll post more later.

thanks :-)... I've added a link back to your blog on mine.

I am a regular reader here ...

one funny thing with the Atom feed which I read with Yahoo Reader: the newest posts are always at the bottom! Not sure if it's something I've done wrong one my side or not. Have you looked at Feedburner for an RSS feed?

FT and CC,

Your welcome.

CMBR,

I wasn't aware of that problem with the Atom feed. I have been thinking about adding Feedburner anyway. Hopefully I can get it up in the next week or so.

Quirky? I prefer eclectic myself, but I can live with that desciption. I mostly follow the blogging concept, "If it hurts, HISS!".

I got this error with your feedburner feed:

We couldn't find the RSS file you asked for http://feeds.feedburner.com/CanadianDreamFreeAt45

quick note too: if you want, I can show you how for 7$US a year (the price of a .COM domain, not something I charge :-)) , I created a domain name that I've pointed Blogger to.. very easy and nicer than having a Blogspot address

CMBR,

I'll look into the feed and see if I can't find out what's up.

Please send me an email with the details on getting a .com address. My address is on the main page under the website counter.

Thanks,
CD

CMBR,

Give the RSS feed another try. I've adjusted some settings that should hopefully fixed the problem.

actually here are the details for everybody's benefit:

- go to 1and1.com (or any other low fee registrar)

- get a cheap .COM web domain name

- go to Blogger Settings / Publishing

- follow the instructions from here:
http://help.blogger.com/bin/answer.py?answer=55373

- point the custom domain account to your site (with a www. prefix); WAIT AT LEAST 24 HOURS to switch Blogger to your new domain ... other the DNS servers won't be updated and your site won't work ...even better to wait 48 hours

the good thing is your current Blogspot URL will still work

write me at canadianmoneyblog@rogers.com if you have any question
