About Me

I'm a chemical engineer in my late twenties working for a consulting firm in Regina, SK. I enjoy reading, writing and saving money. After being the unoffical 'money guy' in my family for years I decided it was time to share some of my thoughts with others as I try to save enough cash to retire when I turn 45.

Good to see a fellow Reginian with an interesting blog. Sounds like you are at a similar place in life as me, except I lost the ability to say I'm in my late twenties earlier this year.
I don't want to get too personal, so don't answer if you don't want to, but do you have kids, or plan on it? I find it adds a whole other level to creating a "freedom" plan. How much are they going to cost at various ages, how much is my wife going to work, would a 40ish retired dad be a good role model for a teenager??? Just curious what your thoughts are....

Saskman7,

Yes I have a 2 year old running around at home. I've found that so far kids are just a constant drain on the monthly budget. In my case around $120/month. As for the entire will the wife work thing, that is my next post. I'll have it up later today.
